Contemporary adaptive reuse:
Remodel & Restoration & Change of use

OVERVIEW

The project involves the INA Building of Famed modern Italian architect Franco Albini.

The project is divided into two parts: the design of new apartments in the top three floors and the extension of the Benetton’s store to the remaining floors.

Benetton‘s project sees the extension of the store from two to five floors, with a different arrangement of the floors' destination.

The design of the new apartment’s focuses on adapting the floors to a new appropriate disposition, guaranteeing an optimal livability and an interesting organization of the space, creating big-size luxurious apartments, located in the very city center.

The design, as a whole, ensures the integrity of the architectural features, balancing the relationship between the new functional destinations and the building's conservation.

The building is listed in the Historic Landmarks Register, therefore any intervention has to be overviewed from the Historic Landmarks Commission (in Italy, “Regional Board of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Environmental Conservation”).

Location: Parma, Italy
