Italian noble palace:
Remodel & Restoration

OVERVIEW

These are two separate projects within the same historical Palazzo Dalla Rosa-Prati: private apartment; and suites for rent. Both include historic preservation and adaptive reuse design.

The private apartment project prioritizes the conservation of all the building’s components – among other elements, several wall and ceiling decorations are present. The existent structure will be reinforced and the interior disposition adapted to a new layout, without affecting the existing fabric.

The design includes interior design as well as architectural and constructive details for furniture and flooring.

The suites project creates adaptable and comfortable suites in what is one of the most unique locations in Parma. The suites have a flexible layout designed in order to be used separately or in group, allowing different options of use while maintaining privacy.

Current location of the Noble Family ‘Dalla Rosa – Prati’, which has its roots in XV century Parma, the building is located in the very historical center on the Cathedral Square, viewing the Cathedral and next of the Baptistery (photo below. One of the most important medieval architectures in Italy, commissioned in the late XII century to world famous master Benedetto Antelami).

The building is listed in the Historic Landmarks Register, therefore any intervention has to be overviewed from the Historic Landmarks Commission.

Location: Parma, Italy
